The capital of Malta and a majestic city, Valletta appears as a magnificent fortress that has developed on the rocks of the Mount Sceberras peninsula. Nestled between two of the most magnificent ports in the Mediterranean, the city will impress you with its bastions, forts and cathedrals. History lovers, you've come to the right place and one thing is for sure, your yacht charter in Malta promises to be unforgettable.

A majestic fortress

Valletta takes its name from its founder, Jean Parisot de La Valette, who had the idea of making the city an imposing European cultural and commercial center. This town, developed in the 16th century, would become the commercial heart of Malta.

It remains the administrative and commercial center of the island today. With its 320 monuments, spread over an area of 55 hectares, the city appears like a splendid open-air museum that will amaze history buffs. Selected as a World Heritage Site, it shines with the beauty of its architecture. A walk on foot is ideal for admiring its beautiful gardens, its breathtaking views of the harbor and the baroque architecture of the city. Don't miss a visit to the most famous of Malta's churches, St. John's Co-Cathedral, near Republic Square.

The latter is home to magnificent paintings, sculptures and beautiful tapestries. Its rich and authentic interior decor, inspired by the high baroque, has made this church, built between 1573 and 1578, famous. The Palace of the Grand Masters also deserves special attention. The former residence of successive grand masters, it contains an armory with a fabulous collection of medieval weapons and battle armor.

Unforgettable boat trips

The quays of Valletta also offer a range of fun and enjoyable activities for the whole family. Water taxis can take you anywhere in Malta. Choose yacht charters in Valletta or seaplane rides to make your stay truly memorable. At the crossroads of important sea routes, cruises around Valletta promise to be unforgettable. And if you want to have fun during your vacation, February is the best month to attend the festival of Saint Paul the Shipwrecked, celebrated on February 10. Beautiful processions and demonstrations of joy in the street will be on the agenda.
