Antoine, who went sailing with Filovent on a catamaran in Phuket, told me about his wonderful experience. "The setting is idyllic and has something of Vietnam's famous Halong Bay about it. We sailed between the limestone rocks and saw a few dolphins. Once at the anchorage, we were greeted by the monkeys on the beaches. We completely disconnected; we felt like we were alone in the world!"
Why not go there this winter? Thailand is one of the top 4 destinations for spending the winter in the sun! We also offer yacht charters to Koh Chang or from Koh Samui if you want to discover the Gulf of Thailand.

2. What is there to do in Phuket?
Some information to know
In the south of Thailand, Phuket is a tropical island bathed by the Andaman Sea and caressed by the monsoon. Favored by constant temperatures throughout the year, thistourist destination, whose capital has the same name, offers visitors a wide range of activities to help them escape from it all, with its "picture postcard" beaches, green hills and sumptuous traditional buildings. Sailing cruises also offer tremendous opportunities for exploration and discovery.
For a yacht charter in Thailand, the Phuket base is an ideal choice. You will be in the best position to enjoy your sailing cruise in a maritime area dotted with islands and islets. You will then have the immense privilege of sailing on peaceful turquoise waters, crossing grandiose scenery enhanced by lush nature. You're sure to discover several sensational anchorages enhanced by beautiful stretches of white sand on which to relax.

Don't leave Phuket without visiting Haad Nai Yang National Park, which is located in the northwest of the island. In addition to being home to an impressive coral reef characterized by shallow water, the site will invite you to observe the laying of giant turtles, especially if your stay is between the months of November and February.
A day on land
A vacation in Phuket would not be perfect if you forgot to enjoy a pleasant sunny day in the city. The city is home to a wealth of interesting heritage . It is precisely in its historic center, along its streets (bustling with cafés, shops and restaurants) that a page of its history is turned. The city's liveliest street, Ranong, is home to Chinese artisans and herbalists who will offer you some exotic remedies.

Every morning, in front of the bus station, stands the island's largest market, where all the flavors of Thailand come together, from sun-drenched fruits and vegetables to pigs' snouts, not to mention exotic curiositiesexotic curiosities such as grilled insects. To admire the most beautiful architecture in Phuket, take Thalang Street. There you can admire century-old Sino-Portuguese buildings alongside the multicolored shophouses. On Phang-Nga Street stands the symbol of the city, which was home to the country's first bank: the Standard Chartered Bank. The history of the island will also be told to you at the Thai Hua Museum, overlooking Krabi Street, where you will get a glimpse of the local gastronomy and culture.
Soi Romanee is the best street for those who like peace and quiet. Lined with fully restored shophouses built in the 19th century, this small street has a rather zen and chic atmosphere. It's a great place to enjoy a macchiato in the shade, facing the colorful facades of the shophouses built by Portuguese and Chinese merchants.
The most beautiful beaches in Phuket
Want to relax on the most beautiful beaches in Phuket? From the side of your sailboat, you can reach beaches with well-established reputations, such as Kata beach, located north of Kata Noi, Patong beach, the largest beach on the island, or even Surin beach, a trendy beach made famous by Paris Hilton.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, choose Freedom Beach. Difficult to access, it is located near Patong Beach, offers a long stretch of fine sand with a turquoise sea on either side and has a small Thai restaurant where you can eat with your family. You can also enjoy the peace and quiet of Kata Noi Beach, which belongs to the seaside resort of Kata. To the north of the island is the quiet beach of Nai Thon.

3. Where to sail from Phuket?
Phang Nga Bay
If you've come to Thailand to discover limestone peaks, secret caves and lush green beaches, you absolutely must sail in Phang Nga Bay! Located to the north-west of Phuket, straddling the province of Phang-Nga and that of Krabi, you will discover some of the most beautiful landscapes in Thailand. Today, a large part of the area is protected and is divided into several national parks.

Krabi Province
If you head south, you will arrive in the magnificent province of Krabi. Characterized by its imposing limestone cliffs, magnificent beaches and fascinating coral reefs, the province is a must-see on a sailing cruise in Thailand!

The Similan Islands
the charming Similan Islands archipelago lies 60 nautical miles northwest of Phuket, in the heart of the Andaman Sea. Less touristy than Phang Nga Bay and Krabi Province, the Similan Islands are home to exceptionally well- preserved seabeds. Like its neighbors, the Surin Islands, the Similan Islands archipelago is a protected site. The authorities make great efforts to preserve the unique treasures of their national parks, which are closed during the low season from May to October, for example.

4. What are the weather conditions in Phuket?
By renting a sailboat in Phuket, you will enjoy favorable weather all year round. However, the dry season - from November to April - is preferable if you want to enjoy dry weather and plenty of sunshine. During the dry season, temperatures range between 25 and 30 degrees.
Although the island of Phuket is well protected, sailing conditions are more favorable there during the dry season. During the months of July and August, strong currents are present in the area, particularly in the shallow waters such as those of Phang Nga Bay.
