Didim is a district capital of the province of Ayd?n in the Aegean region of Turkey. The population of the city of Didim is growing quite rapidly.
The town is 123 km from the provincial capital Ayd?n. The district is a peninsula, bordered to the north by the river Méandre and Lake Bafa. It is a limestone plateau bordered to the south by Cape Takeaěaç (Takeaěaç Burun), the former adjustment of course and speed of Poseidon.
The forest cover is reduced and the uncultivated areas are covered with scrubland. Outside the road and the coastal area, the region is undeveloped.
The district of Didim is home to two major sites from the Hellenistic period, Miletus and Didyma.
