Yacht charter

Last updated on 8 April 2025

The American West, also known as the Far West, is a region located in the western part of the United States. Its definition has evolved over time, as the population has colonized the interior lands heading towards the Pacific Ocean. This colonization is called the conquest of the West. The Far West is a region where an original society developed, where individuals from very different backgrounds and horizons crossed paths. The mythical America of the Rocky Mountains, where where the Amerindian tribes and the pioneers who came to found the United States clash, is forever symbolized, in the memory of the peoples, by red deserts as far as the eye can see and mountains sculpted by erosion.

If you dream of exploring the most beautiful tourist sites in the Americas, opt without hesitation for yacht charter in the western United States. Note that the most famous cities are concentrated in the southern part of the American continent. Hauled in by the Pacific Ocean, the west of the United States is also wonderfully suited to various sea activities.

A mythical landscape and an unparalleled history

If you dream of following in the footsteps of the famous gold rush that propelled many Westerns onto the path to glory, a stop in the west of the country is a must.

An entire history will unfold before your amazed eyes! In California, follow the sailing itineraries of the first railroads that opened the way to trade. Admire the last motorized wagon still in operation, cross the Big Fill Walking Trail or even the famous Route 66 sung about by Frank Sinatra.also discover the many ghost towns that bear witness to the gold rush in the west, such as the town of Animas Forks, founded in 1873 in Colorado and abandoned in 1920.

On the nature side, you will be spoiled for choice between a visit to the unmissable Grand Canyon in Colorado or a climbing session in the Sierra Nevada, where magnificent panoramas await you. A complete change of scenery!

What can you do on the water in the American West?

With the pleasure of several waterways, impetuous rivers and the sparkling waters of the Pacific hauled in at the side of the boat, the west of the United States will obviously appeal to yachtsmen and enthusiasts ofof water sports. The more experienced will enjoy canoeing, kayaking and rafting down the rapids. Utah's Lake Powell, California's Lake Tahoe and Colorado's Trappers Lake will be perfect for fishing enthusiasts.

And if you prefer sea excursions, the sparkling waters of the Pacific will take you to magnificent uninhabited islands along the Alaskan coast, towards the state of Washington. By setting course for British Columbia by sea, you can admire the whales, dolphins, seals and other marine animals in their natural environment.
