Catamaran charter in Greece with or without a skipper

Last updated on 16 February 2026

Why sail a catamaran in Greece?

A catamaran charter in Greece gives you the opportunity to discover breathtaking landscapes in the Balkans. Let yourself be seduced by the heavenly coves offered by its many islets and islands scattered between the Ionian Sea and the Aegean Sea. By sailing from island to island, you will discover the rich cultural heritage of Greece, such as the Palace of the Grand Masters in Rhodes, the monastery of St. John the Theologian on Patmos, the archaeological site of Delos or the ancient town of Paleokastrítsa on the island of Corfu. You can anchor boats in Kefalonia at Frikes, Vathy and Kioni for diving or to observe the superb seabed. Also take advantage of your catamaran cruise in Greece to admire the spectacle of the sunset on the island of Santorini.

The best places to sail in Greece

Greece offers you five sailing areas. Nature lovers will appreciate the Sporades islands, where the mountain ranges seem to flow into the sea. Discover picture-postcard landscapes in the Cyclades islands, home to dazzling white villages floating on turquoise waters. The Dodecanese archipelago is also worth exploring during your catamaran charter in Greece, with its many sheltered anchorages. close to Athens, you can sail around the Saronic Islands and discover the history and traditions of Greece. Finally, the magnificent beaches of the Ionian Islands are perfect for alternating between relaxation, swimming and sunbathing.

Practical information on navigating in the area

Most of the Greek islands have small ports where you can moor, but the entrances are sometimes narrow and require a bit of technique. A charter with a skipper can be a good solution for the less experienced. In the large Greek cities you will find marinas with safe anchorage places. The ideal periods for a catamaran charter in Greece are between May and June or between August and October. This will enable you to avoid scorching temperatures and, above all, the terrible Meltemi, an easterly wind that makes sailing much more challenging, particularly in the Cyclades area.
