Drake Passage At sea - Weddell
Impenetrable, extreme, bewitching - that's how you could describe the Weddell Sea, frozen for the... see+ most part by thick, compressed pack ice. Navigating it is both a challenge and a privilege. Polar exploration takes on its full meaning here. Heading south is a real quest, and the promise of rich encounters with the continent's endemic fauna. This is the home of the emperor penguin, the world's largest penguin, renowned for its elegance. Unlike other penguins, which live on the rocks, the Emperor nests on the pack ice it needs for its reproductive cycle. So it's on the latter that you'll be able to observe it strolling along with its characteristic stride. In this southern sea, monotony never sets in, as the ice is constantly changing and transforming. New reliefs, new colors, the wonder is continuous. You sail through immaculate pack ice, broken up or compressed, amid an alley of icebergs. Among them, immense blocks of ice, the tabular icebergs, drift, lighting up the ocean with their cerulean blue halo. On board, on land and on the ice, you'll find yourself up close to colonies of Adélie penguins, Weddell seals, Minke whales, orcas, snow petrels... If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of a rare silver-coated Ross's seal or emperor penguins strolling along the edge of the pack ice. A spectacle as fascinating as it is moving.

At sea - Weddell Antarctic Peninsula
Let yourself be dazzled by the magic of a place like no other. The Antarctic Peninsula, a mythical... see+ land if ever there was one, still exerts a real fascination today and promises its visitors unforgettable moments. Throughout your adventure in this icy setting, you'll be surrounded by spectacular scenery in subtle shades of blue and white, and exceptional wildlife. Penguins, humpback whales, seals and giant petrels are all at home here, as are elephant seals, fur seals, Antarctic minke whales and orcas. Depending on which sites you have the privilege of visiting, you may have the chance to observe them and share with them the beauty of these extreme places.

Each day, depending on ice conditions, the captain and expedition leader will suggest landings or zodiac trips to discover the infinite riches of the Antarctic Peninsula. Glaciers, ice floes, tabular icebergs, mountain peaks plunging sheer into the water, volcanic beaches, scientific bases, enchanting bays and remnants of the whaling industry: these are just some of the faces you're likely to see, in an unreal, hushed atmosphere. You'll follow in the footsteps of Jean-Baptiste Charcot, Adrien de Gerlache and Sir Ernest Shackleton, the great Antarctic explorers who set out in the 19th century to conquer these remote, uninhabited lands.

At sea - Antarctica Port stanley
Located at the easternmost tip of the largest of the Falkland Islands, Port Stanley is the capital... see+ of this remote South Atlantic archipelago of nearly 700 islands and islets. In 1764, Louis-Antoine de Bougainville settled the first settlers here, and the port rapidly expanded. Placed under Spanish rule in 1767, then under British sovereignty since 1833, the city has retained some South American features fused with the Victorian style that punctuates the town, and the houses with their colorful roofs brighten up the moorland landscape with its windy, harsh climate reminiscent of the Scottish islands of Orkney or Shetland. In front of the cathedral, erected in 1933, an arch made of whale jawbones reminds us that Port Stanley was once a whaling port.
