You will see the ancient theater, built around 40-50 AD, which is considered one of the most important of Roman antiquity, with a diameter of 130 m and a capacity at the time estimated at 13,000 spectators. Restored in 1938, it has regained its original function as a venue for artistic events. You will continue on to the Temple of Augustus and Livia (exterior). Named as such since the end of the 18th century, this temple, dedicated to the cult of Rome and Augustus, stood in a sacred area on the forum. Its construction began around 20-10 BC; it was then converted into a church in the early Middle Ages and finally restored in the second half of the 19th century thanks to the intervention of Prosper Mérimée. Finally, to end this tour, discover Saint Maurice Cathedral (exterior), which has been classified as a historic monument since 1840. Return to the ship by foot. NOTES Wear comfortable shoes, even though the city is very accessible. The order of visits may be changed. Times are given as a guide only.
