Sailing itineraries

Assouan Herdiab
Pick-up from Aswan airport or Aswan hotel at around 09:30 am. We set off to visit the temple of... see+ Philae. This temple was moved by UNESCO between 1972 and 1980 to save it from the waters of the Nile. Situated on an island accessible by small boat, this Greco-Roman temple was for a long time the place of worship of the universal goddess Isis. In the early 19th century, following in the footsteps of the first adventurers, Pierre Lotti, who nicknamed it “the Pearl of Egypt”, travelled there by dahabieh. Lunch on board or in a local restaurant.
Afternoon swim on Herdiab beach, for those who wish, and visit to Herdiab village, one of the few villages on the Nile still preserving traditional farming methods...Dinner on board.

Herdiab Kom Ombo Gebel Silsileh El Hammam island
Breakfast while sailing to Kom Ombo. Visit to the Nile-side temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobeck... see+ and Haroéris (Horus the Old). See mummified crocodiles found in the adjoining cemetery, the Egyptian calendar, surgical instruments arranged on a tray in front of Imhotep (physician and architect of Djoser's Funerary Complex), worshipped by the kneeling Roman emperor Trajan. Lunch on the way to Gebel Silsila. Along the rocky sandstone cliffs, we discover the quarries with their many small chapels, the sanctuary of Horemheb, places where the Nile is celebrated. We also reach the great flood stelae. We reach the site of Djebel Silsila. Here, the Nile narrows and winds its way between sheer sandstone cliffs. Throughout the New Kingdom and Greco-Roman periods, thousands of men worked in the Silsila quarries to extract the sandstone used to build the temples. Barbecue dinner on the island of El Hammam. The natural setting of this stopover is enhanced by a few lights to create a festive atmosphere. In keeping with tradition, the crew light a fire, sing and dance to the rhythm of the “Darbouka” drums.

Bassaw El Hammam island Edfou El Hegz
When you wake up, the landscape is transformed. Breakfast on board as we sail to Bassaw. A stopover... see+ in the small village of Basaw, deserted by tourism, allows for direct contact without any mercantile considerations. The houses are adorned with frescoes depicting the owner's journey to Mecca. Before leaving the village, the crew stocks up on fish such as perch. Discover traditional fishing with local fishermen in their small boats, freely teasing the Nile perch and its congeners. You'll learn how to cast the traditional net, tap the surface of the mythical waters and bring back your daily lunch on board.
Lunch on board as we sail to Edfu. We soon arrive in Edfu for a visit to the temple dedicated to the falcon god Horus. In small groups of 2 or 3, we take a horse-drawn carriage through the town to reach the temple, one of the best preserved in Egypt. It's also the one that best expresses the contemplation and serenity of sacred places. It's a veritable open book on the myths and legends of the Egypt of the Pharaohs. Return to the boat by horse-drawn carriage. Sailing to El Hegz. Final dinner and overnight on board.
