Depart after breakfast to explore the site of Giza, the last remaining of the Seven Wonders of the... see+ World. The pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Menkaure, originally covered entirely in white limestone, have always been a source of fascination and still hold many mysteries today. A World Heritage Site, this ancient funerary complex is home to the legendary and monumental statue of the Sphinx, a name given by the ancient Greeks for its resemblance to the mythological monster with the head of a woman and the body of a lion. Lunch at a restaurant. Then visit the necropolis of Saqqara and the step pyramid of Djoser, an architectural masterpiece of the Old Kingdom and the first stone pyramid in Egypt. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Depart after breakfast to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum*, one of the largest museums in the world... see+ with impressive dimensions, built close-hauled to the Giza Plateau and inaugurated in the fall of 2024. The museum houses the world's largest collection of Egyptian antiquities and contains many archaeological treasures, including the entire collection from Tutankhamun's tomb, discovered a century ago. Lunch at a restaurant, then explore the old city of Cairo, a sprawling and bustling city with undeniable charm: you will visit the Citadel of Saladin and the Mohamed Ali Mosque, among other sites. After a stroll through the famous Khan al-Khalili souk, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Cairo. * The Grand Egyptian Museum is gradually opening its collections to visitors. The transfer of Tutankhamun's treasure is scheduled for fall 2025.

Early in the morning, transfer to Cairo airport and flight to Aswan. Welcome at the airport and... see+ transfer to the port to board the side of the boat Dahabieh Queen Isis. Welcome, refreshments, and settling into cabins. Lunch on the side of the boat. Afternoon program: visit the majestic Temple of Isis, originally built on the island of Philae. Constructed by one of the last Egyptian pharaohs in the 4th century BC, it was completed by the Romans. In the 1970s, it was moved to a neighboring island after the Aswan Dam was flooded. Visit the city of Aswan and its famous souk, where you will find a profusion of spices, fabrics, and local crafts. Dinner and overnight stay on the side of the boat.

Morning departure for Aswan airport and flight to Abu Simbel. Visit the Temple of Ramses II and its... see+ four colossi, a Nubian masterpiece moved under the aegis of UNESCO when the Aswan Dam was built in the 1960s. Next door, the Temple of Hathor, dedicated to Queen Nefertari, the Pharaoh's wife, also boasts six massive statues of the couple on its façade. Return to Aswan and lunch on board your dahabieh. In the afternoon, take a felucca trip on the Nile for a bucolic discovery of the islands, gardens, banks and Nubian villages of this part of the river. At the end of the day, enjoy a tea/coffee break on the terrace overlooking the Nile at the legendary Old Cataract hotel to watch the sun set. Dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast on the side of the boat. Cruise through stunning landscapes to Kom Ombo. Visit the... see+ Ptolemaic temple of Kom Ombo, a unique temple dedicated to the worship of two deities: the falcon god Haroëris and the crocodile god Sobek. In ancient Egypt, the crocodile was a sacred animal symbolizing fertility, whose presence in the Nile heralded floods that were favorable for crops. Return on board, lunch, and cruise along the narrowest part of the Nile, between majestic sandstone hills. This stopover will be an opportunity to contemplate the quarries of Jebel Silsila, whose sandstone blocks were used to build most of the Egyptian temples, as well as the temple of Horemheb, with its steles carved into the cliff face, once the center of major annual ceremonies linked to the flooding of the Nile. Dedicated to the Theban triad and the gods of the Nile, this temple opens onto a spectacular gallery of pillars. Dinner and overnight stay on the side of the boat.

Breakfast on the side of the boat as you sail to the small island of Ramadi; after a short walk,... see+ arrive at the home of a local family to see the daily life of the inhabitants of the banks of the Nile: the fields, the garden, the animals, food preparation, etc. Return on board and sail to Edfu. Visit the Greco-Roman Temple of Horus, remarkable for its harmonious layout and perfect proportions. For close to 2,000 years, this temple was buried under the desert sands, which explains its exceptional state of preservation. The main interest of this temple lies in its inscriptions, which have enabled Egyptologists to gain a detailed understanding of the daily worship of Horus and the most lavish ceremonies of ancient Egypt. Breakfast on the side of the boat, departure for Dendera to visit the famous temple of Hathor,... see+ goddess of love, music, and motherhood. Founded more than 2,000 years before our era, this temple is one of the best preserved in Egypt and was embellished by many pharaohs, mainly the Ptolemaic dynasty. With its massive stone roof, it impresses with the quality of its hieroglyphics. In particular, you can see the famous Dendera zodiac, the original of which is now kept in the Louvre Museum. Return to Luxor for lunch on the side of the boat.
The afternoon program includes a visit to the legendary Temple of Karnak, the most imposing religious complex in ancient Egypt. Built over thousands of years, it is dedicated to the god Amun. At the temple entrance, 40 ram-headed sphinxes lead you to the great hypostyle hall with its spectacular forest of columns, the largest of all Egyptian temples. Visit the Luxor Temple and return to the dahabieh. Dinner and overnight stay on the side of the boat.

After breakfast on the side of the boat Dahabieh Isis, departure for the west bank of the Nile to... see+ explore the Theban necropolises of the Valley of the Kings, known for housing the tombs of Egypt's greatest pharaohs, including that of Tutankhamun, discovered intact in 1922. Depending on the opening/closing days of the tombs, visits to four different tombs are included, including Tutankhamun's tomb. Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, a unique structure built against the rocky face of the mountain. Pass by the famous Colossi of Memnon, monumental sculptures and the last remains of the Temple of Amenhotep III. Dinner and overnight stay on the side of the boat. Optional Hot air balloon flight over Thebes. Depart at dawn and fly over Luxor in a hot air balloon to admire the sunrise over the Valley of the Kings, the site of Karnak and its temples.
