Düsseldorf Koblenz Mainz
Koblenz already impresses with its unique location at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle... see+ rivers. The first stop on any tour of the city should therefore be the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) with its imposing monument to Emperor William I. Since 2002, it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Upper Middle Rhine Valley." Visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of Koblenz and its two rivers from the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Perched 120 meters above the Rhine, this 16th-century fortification is the second-largest fortress still standing in Europe. The gondola ride up the cable car is spectacular in itself.

One of the town's attractions is the parish church, which dates back to the Gothic period. Inside, the Counts of Wertheim, who ruled here from the 15th to the 18th century, found their final resting place. Wertheim Wurtzbourg
Dominating the heights above the Main River, this fortress is a landmark visible from afar: the... see+ Marienberg Fortress. For centuries, it was the residence of the prince-bishops of Würzburg. Crossing the Old Main Deck (Alte Mainbrücke) with its imposing stone statues is an experience in itself. From the Marienberg Fortress, there is a magnificent view of the vineyards and the towers of around 60 churches. The Würzburg Residence, the city palace of the prince-bishops, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. Volkach Bamberg
The city of Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enchants visitors with its magnificent old town,... see+ which invites them to stroll around and explore. Sandstrasse, the city's most famous street, runs through the historic center and is home to the Schlenkerla brewery, which has been in existence since 1405. The brewery's pub is legendary, and both locals and tourists enjoy Rauchbier (smoked beer) and Bamberg onions there.

Bamberg's Romanesque cathedral, dedicated to St. Peter and St. George, dominates Sandstrasse. It is known as the Imperial Cathedral because the imperial couple Henry II and Cunegonde are buried there. The cathedral also houses the only papal tomb north of the Alps, that of Pope Clement II.

Upon arrival at the Bamberg port on the Main-Danube Canal, the tour continues by coach to the city’s concert hall. This modern building, home to the Bamberg Symphony – Bavarian State Philharmonic, marks the starting point of your guided walking tour. From... see+ here on, the excursion takes place entirely on foot. See the monumental Bamberg Cathedral (Dom), dedicated to Saints Peter and George. With its four towering spires, this Romanesque church offers a striking visual highlight. If conditions allow, a visit to the cathedral’s interior will also be included. The tour continues around Domplatz, where a variety of architectural styles and historic buildings await.
