After this timeless moment, you will take the road to La Soufrière, considered the only volcano in the Caribbean that can be explored by vehicle: a road runs through its crater. This historic site is the result of volcanic eruptions that occurred 300,000 years ago. La Soufrière is still a very active volcano, and you will have the chance to observe the famous sulfur springs, a testament to this activity. A strong sulfur smell will greet you at the entrance to the site. It has been proven that inhaling sulfurous water has many medicinal properties. Sulfurous fumaroles and steam jets escape from the ground, while natural pools bubble with sulfurous water that can reach temperatures of 170°F. After a short journey, you will reach the Morne Coubaril estate, a vast farm situated on a plateau. She will share with you her love... see+ for the island, its traditions and its local specialities. After a short presentation on the history of the Saintes archipelago, you'll follow Suzanne along a short but rocky path to the viewpoint of the Pain de Sucre. Here you can gaze out over the third most beautiful bay in the world and take panoramic photos. A little further on, you'll discover a small chapel. Once you've returned from this incredible viewpoint, you'll head back to the hotel to begin your gastronomic journey. Suzanne will treat you to classic French dishes such as foie gras or magret de canard, but with a local twist and using products from the region. The use of tropical fruits and spices will give a Caribbean flavour to this gastronomic experience. You'll also enjoy local drinks such as traditional syrups and punches. Your tasting session will end with local sweets. After this delicious time, you'll have an hour to relax on the hotel's beach and swim in its crystal-clear waters. This excursion involves very little walking in terms of distance (maximum 1 km), but over very uneven and rocky terrain, with gradients and steps. We recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes, protect yourself from the sun and wear your swimming costume under your clothes, as well as taking a towel and your water bottle from the ship. Tastings are included in the tour. Deckchairs and parasols will be provided free of charge on the beach. This excursion is limited to 14 participants.
