Between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., you will be picked up at Chiang Rai Airport or directly at your hotel... see+ in town and set off on a journey to the legendary Golden Triangle. Your adventure will begin with a visit to the majestic Golden Buddha of Sop Ruak and a museum that will give you an in-depth insight into the complex history of opium and its effects on health.
In the afternoon, you will board your exclusive cruise ship, the result of a collaboration between German and Laotian partners, guaranteeing a high-end and authentic journey. Settle into your cabin and discover the spacious decks and cozy lounge. To celebrate the start of this unique adventure, you will enjoy a welcome dinner carefully prepared by the crew.

Golden Triangle Huay Xai Pak Tha
After a final breakfast on Thai soil, you will cross the Lao-Thai Friendship Deck to officially... see+ enter Laos. Your first stop will be the bustling border town of Huay Xay, an economic and commercial center in Bokeo Province, whose name means "sapphire" and refers to the region's rich heritage.
This is where your Mekong expedition truly begins. From the very first hours of sailing, marvel at the wild splendor of northern Laos: lush greenery, mist-covered mountains, and isolated villages nestled along the river. We will finally drop anchor for the night at Pak Tha, an important area at the mouth of the Mekong River.

After breakfast, you will set off on an immersion trip to the heart of a mountain village in the... see+ Pak Tha region, where you will get a glimpse of the unique lifestyle of the locals. Back on the side of the boat, a refreshing drink will be waiting for you before lunch is served.
As we sail along, we will pass through remote and unspoiled regions of Laos that were previously only accessible by river. Breathtaking landscapes will unfold before you: lush hills covered with tropical vegetation, impressive rock formations, and a harmonious blend of fast currents and calm stretches of river. Whether you choose to relax on the deck, enjoy the comfort of your cabin, or share a convivial moment in the lounge, this timeless journey will immerse you in a wild and enchanting natural environment.

Pak Tha Pak Ou
After a relaxing morning on board, we will reach a picturesque village on the side of the river... see+ around noon. Here, we will explore the legendary Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of small Buddha statues placed there by pilgrims over the centuries. From this sacred place, you will have the opportunity to take a hike through the jungle that will lead you to the local village of Ban Muang Keo. If you prefer a more leisurely approach, a short boat ride will take you to the village. Once there, you will witness a demonstration of a fascinating traditional craft: the distillation of Lao-Lao, the famous rice whiskey of Laos. Miss Somechan Khonpachith, who has perfected this art, will not only share the secrets of this ancient technique with you, but also invite you to a tasting. As the day draws to a close, our boat remains anchored, offering breathtaking views of the imposing limestone mountains, a spectacular backdrop for a peaceful evening.

Today, we berth at Luang Prabang, the former royal capital of Laos and one of the most beautiful... see+ cities in Southeast Asia, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your day begins with a guided tour of the city that will take you to Wat Xieng Thong, the city's most famous temple and a masterpiece of Laotian architecture. At sunset, you will climb Mount Phou Si, which offers magnificent panoramic views of the Mekong and Khan rivers. The evening is free to stroll along the banks of the Mekong, soak up the atmosphere of the colorful Hmong night market, or enjoy a fine dinner in one of the charming riverside restaurants.

Luang Prabang
Early in the morning, you will have the opportunity to participate in Tak Bat—the traditional... see+ offering in the streets of Luang Prabang. Dozens of monks and novices dressed in orange wind their way through the narrow streets of the old town. Then, your guide will take you through the bustling morning market, where the air is filled with the fragrant aromas of exotic spices, locally grown tea, and freshly brewed Laotian coffee.
After a gourmet breakfast on the side of the boat, we will continue our exploration with a visit to the National Museum, housed in the former royal palace, where you will discover the fascinating history of Luang Prabang. We will then visit a local craft village. The afternoon is free—the city offers many opportunities for those who wish to explore on their own. Before dinner, you will return to the boat's outdoor deck to enjoy a demonstration of traditional Lao dance and participate in a baci ceremony.

Luang Prabang Kuang Si
During breakfast on the side of the boat, the enchanting panorama of Luang Prabang unfolds before... see+ your eyes. At the end of the morning, we will reach the peaceful village of Ban Muang Khai, where traditional tuk-tuks await to take you to the spectacular Kuang Si Falls. Here, crystal-clear turquoise waters cascade down several levels, forming magnificent natural pools, perfect for a refreshing swim in a paradisiacal setting.
Right next to the waterfalls is the "Free the Bears" rescue center, dedicated to the protection and conservation of sun and moon bears (Malayan and Tibetan) threatened with extinction throughout Southeast Asia. We will learn more about the considerable efforts being made to rehabilitate these adorable creatures.
In the afternoon, we will continue our cruise towards the impressive Xayaburi Dam, Laos' largest hydroelectric power plant, an engineering masterpiece that supplies much of the country with energy. In the evening, our cruise ship will drop anchor at a secluded sandy beach where you will spend the night.

Kuang Si Ban Don Sai ngam
This morning, we will arrive at the charming little village of Ban Don Saingam, nestled... see+ picturesquely between the hills along the Mekong River. After a walk of about 30 minutes or—depending on the season—a ride on a local tractor, we will arrive at an almost forgotten cave. Equipped with flashlights, we will explore its hidden depths and discover its secrets before returning to our boat. During the afternoon, we will continue our journey along the river, enjoying the magnificent views and, with a little luck, you will be able to watch local fishermen water-jet-powered motorized craft casting their nets on the riverbanks. At the end of the day, you can take part in the entertaining and informative program offered by your cruise director. In the evening, we will berth a little earlier to prepare our famous barbecue on the riverbanks, under a starry sky and in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Ban Don Sai ngam Salakham
As we continue down the river, the landscape changes: mountains give way to flat terrain and the... see+ Mekong widens, revealing fascinating rock formations. This part of the river is the perfect opportunity to watch our experienced captains master the powerful waters of the Mekong. In the early afternoon, we will pass a golden statue of Buddha perched on a hill, marking the beginning of Thailand along the riverbank.
Shortly after, we will arrive in Salakham, a bustling trading town renowned for its wood and spice markets. A stroll through the local market will immerse you in the colors, sounds, and smells of local crafts and give you an authentic glimpse into the traditions of the region. In the evening, we will drop anchor for the night near a small village.

Salakham Vientiane
Today, we will arrive in the capital of Laos, Vientiane, nicknamed "the mother of all waters" by... see+ the locals. Depending on the river level, the last leg of the journey will be either on the side of your cruise ship or on a traditional Laotian boat, followed by a land transfer to the capital. Once there, we will visit the iconic Pha That Luang stupa, an architectural masterpiece and symbol of Laotian heritage, and explore the historic Ho Phra Keo temple. The imposing Patuxai monument, often referred to as the Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane, stands proudly and embodies the unique charm of the city. In the evening, you will enjoy our farewell dinner on the side of the boat of the Mekong River, a perfect opportunity to share memories and highlights of this unforgettable trip.
