Yacht charter

Last updated on 8 April 2025

Enjoying a vacation in France also means enjoying its beautiful sandy beaches, which are perfect for relaxing. There are also many seaside resorts that are particularly popular with vacationers and boaters. Among the must-sees, we can unhesitatingly mention the Poitou-Charentes region. Yacht charter in Poitou Charentes will allow you to discover mainland France and its welcoming and charming towns, where you can enjoy long swims with the family, as well as unforgettable hikes.

Also part of France's Grand Sud-Ouest, the Poitou-Charentes region is graced with splendid sandy beaches that you can enjoy during your summer vacation, particularly on the Grande Conche de Royan. Considered the largest seaside resort in the Charente, this splendid 2 km long beach is ideal for families, but also for water sports enthusiasts. On the side of La Rochelle, with its isolated character, the beach Chef de Baie seems ideal for those who love peace and quiet.

There are also many historical monuments of interest in Poitou-Charentes. More than 600 historic buildings await history enthusiasts in the region, including the cathedral of Saint-Pierre d'Angoulême and the church of Notre-Dame la Grande, which stands majestically in the city of Poitiers.

Your cruise in Poitou-Charentes

Opening onto the Atlantic, the Poitou-Charentes region has a great deal to offer pleasure boaters. at your own pace, drop anchor on the islands, seaside resorts and beaches that are the pride and joy of Poitou-Charentes. There is a wide range of cruises to suit all tastes. Start your cruise in La Rochelle, the most famous seaside resort in the Charente-Maritime. It owes its reputation to its rich architectural heritage, its cultural events such as the Francofolie festival and, of course, its three beaches. Windsurfers and sea kayakers linger on the Plage des Minimes and the Plage du Chef de Baie.

La Rochelle is also the gateway to the island of Ré, in the Gulf of Gascony. It will be your next stopover and invites you to discover the delights of idleness, but will also give you a taste for water sports such as sailing, surfing, foot fishing and kitesurfing. Head for the south and west coast of thethe island of Ré to enjoy its most beautiful sandy beaches hauled in at the side of the boat by pine forests and dunes like those bordering the commune of Couarde-sur-Mer, where you can try your hand at stand up paddle boarding and kitesurfing. Foot fishing is encouraged on the beaches of Sainte-Marie-de-Ré.

Facing the estuaries of the Charente and the Seudre, the island of Oléron is an interesting stopover for pleasure boaters and offers almost 100 km of coastline dotted with beaches that are idealfor bathers. From north to south, you will come across long sandy stretches such as Boyardville, in the north of the island, offering a breathtaking view of the island of Aix, only accessible by boat, which also has long sandy beaches such as the Grande Plage, recommended for families.
