Aquitaine Yacht Charter

Last updated on 8 April 2025

Considered the third largest metropolitan region in France, Aquitaine is not only attractive for its many historical monuments, but also for its coastal landscape, which is a delight for boaters and water sports enthusiasts.

Opting for yacht charter in Aquitaine is simply enjoying the little pleasures in life around a table à goûter the delights of the land and the sea, veering off on a stroll through the bustling streets of France's legendary cities and, of course, sunbathing on sandy beaches under a radiant sun.

In addition to the unmissable strolls along the famous Canal du Midi to discover renowned cities such as the pink city of Toulouse or Carcassonne, a stay in Aquitaine also means enjoying its beaches overlooking the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Don't hesitate to take advantage of the 250 km of sand that make Aquitaine one of the largest beaches in Europe. The beaches of Arcachon and Biarritz are also great for families.

And if you want to feel closer to nature, why not take a bike ride or a walk in the Landes forest, which, by the way, is the largest forest in Europe.

On the way to the most beautiful beaches in Aquitaine

From the Pyrénées-Atlantiques to the Gironde, via the department of the Landes, your sea cruise in the southwest of France promises to be full of surprises. A range of landscapes can be seen along the Atlantic coastline and the sandy beaches will quickly find takers.

As you reach the beaches of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, you will come across renowned seaside resorts such as Saint-Jean-de-Luz, whose reputation is second to none on the Basque Coast. With various events throughout the year, its large beach is both family-friendly and sporty. To the north are the beaches of Biarritz, which will entertain beachgoers as well as those who are fond of beautiful architecture. The latter will find themselves close to several renowned monuments, such as the Grand Hôtel. in Bidart, the Pavillon Royal is an interesting alternative if you want to stay close to the town. In Anglet, surfing enthusiasts will head for Cavaliers beach, while lovers can enjoy a moment of tranquility on Marinella beach.

Along the Landes coast, you will find yourself facing dune areas lined with pine forests where coastal hikes and surfing are very popular. Surfers set their sights on the Remember beach in Mimizan and the Bourdaines beach hauling in the side of the boat in Seignosse. For walks, choose the Chênes Lièges beach, separating the town of Moliets-et-Maa. The hiking trails that start from the beach will take you to the Courant d'Huchet nature reserve in the western part of the Landes. In Gironde, families meet up at Moulleau beach, which does the town of Arcachon proud with its electric waters and the view it offers of the Dune of Pilat, which you can climb from Corniche beach in Pyla-sur-Mer.
