If you'd like to discover one of the most beautiful cities with a rich historical heritage, opt for a yacht charter in Aude. It is in fact in this commune, located in the south of France, that the most beautiful historical buildings in France are gathered.
Known for its fortified medieval town, the Aude is adorned with magnificent historical monuments that you will discover during a short stroll to the south-east of the town. Among the remarkable architecture, we can mention the abbeys that embellish every corner of the city, such as the abbey of Fontfroide, built towards the end of the year 1000, or the abbey of Saint-Hilaire, which houses the sarcophagus of Saint Sernin.

Yacht charter in the Aude is a great opportunity to discover the five seaside resorts with their delightful beaches, perfect for water sports: Fleury St-Pierre-sur-Mer, Narbonne-Plage, Gruissan, Port-la-Nouvelle and Leucate. To dive into an authentic setting, drop anchor at the seaside resort of Gruissan. There you will find the famous Plage des Chalets, the location for the filming of the movie 37°2 by Jean-Jacques Beineix. Dotted with pretty chalets on stilts, the beach stretches for 2 km, halfway between the entrance to the Grazel canal and the port. Very family-oriented, it has two first-aid posts and is a favorite with windsurfers, who take part every year in May in the famous Défi Wind.
16 km from the historic city are the long sandy beaches, stretching for 4 km, of the seaside resort of Narbonne-Plage. With its simple architecture and serene environment, this seaside resort is an invitation to relax. With its wild character, the beach of Créneau Naturel de Narbonne, located to the west of the seaside resort, offers a magnificent view of the beaches of Gruissan, with the Pyrenees as a backdrop. It extends over 1.6 km and is the best-signposted for sand yachting and other water sports.
The seaside resort of Port-la-Nouvelle offers 13 km of sandy beaches and several coastal sailing itineraries. Its natural environment is made up of ponds and marshes, the best known of which are those of Bages and Ayrolles. There is something for everyone! Lovers of wild beaches should head south towards Leucate, to reach the beach of Montilles de Port la Nouvelle, nicknamed the Côte Vermeille beach.
