Although some criticize the town for its mysterious history, Tannay has a few monuments that are well worth a visit. Bearing witness to its pious past, the beautiful chapel of Saint Charles, completed towards the end of the 19th century, and the town church are among the attractions to see in Tannay. Regarding this church, before its transformation in the 16th century, it was home to an old collegiate church named after Saint Leger and was built around the 12th century. The Hôtel de Ville, built in 1869, and the château de Pignol are also worth visiting during your stop in Tanny.
In fine weather, hikers will delight in strolling through the narrow streets of Tannay, overlooked by beautiful old houses. These houses are characterized by their exterior staircases enclosed in small towers. One of them, dating from the 16th century, belonged to the famous Protestant humanist Théodore de Bèze, a friend of John Calvin. Then end your stroll with a visit to the remains of the ramparts of Tannay, probably built between the 15th and 16th centuries.
