Yacht charter

Last updated on 8 April 2025

Kavalla is a town in northern Greece and the main seaport in the region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. With a yacht charter from Kavalla, you can moor in a picturesque marina on the Aegean Sea. You will have the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of a great navigator and set sail on a sailboat, catamaran or yacht to Crete, Karpathos, Rhodes, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese or the Sporades. Set off on an adventure by renting a sailboat in Greece! But before that, it is essential to visit the old town perched on its promontory and overlooking a magnificent bay.

The neighborhoods are arranged in an amphitheater, with the oldest part at the top. This is dominated by a citadel (the kastro of Kavala) and characterized by corbelled houses, hauling in on the sides of the stepped alleys and cobbled streets. The entrance to this old town is marked by the Kamares aqueduct, built in 1550 and featuring three rows of superimposed arches. Don't miss a visit to the archaeological museum, which exhibits a collection of artifacts dating from the Neolithic period to the Roman Empire. Located on the outskirts of the city, the ancient city of Philippi is another testament to Roman power. Here you will discover the remains of an octagonal basilica and a large theater dating from the 4th century BC.

Nature hike starting from Kavala

Opting for yacht charter in Kavala will also give you the opportunity to discover the authentic, verdant nature that characterizes the regions of northern Greece. Located in eastern Macedonia, this coastal city remains an excellent point of departure for a sailboat charter in Greece. Opt, for example, for a pleasant excursion to Drama. A pleasant scenic walk awaits you, leading to a magnificent waterfall where you can enjoy a refreshing swim.

Hikers will also enjoy exploring the Nestos nature reserve, which reveals nature of breathtaking beauty. It will also be an excellent excuse for birdwatchers to immortalize several species of rare and migratory birds nesting near the Nestos River. For their part, speleology enthusiasts are invited to head for Aggitis cave. Carved out by an underground river, the cave reveals a landscape of stalactites that will leave you speechless.

Swimming and lazing about at the side of the boat

Your pleasant stroll from the town of Kavala will also take you to its splendid sandy rivers, which invite you to relax and have fun. Almost 6 km of sandy coastline await you. Keramoti beach lies to the south-east of Kavala airport. Considered the most beautiful in the region, this cosmopolitan beach is a delight for families. Families will also enjoy a little swim at Kalamitsa beach, to the west of the city.

If you'd like to discover the joys of camping at the side of the boat, opt for a pleasant boat trip to Batis beach. Located 4 km from Kavala, it has a campsite and an autonomous resort. Want to stroll along a splendid river of fine sand? Head for Ammolofoi beach!

For all these reasons, don't wait any longer to rent a sailboat in Greece!
