A few kilometers from Thessaloniki lies the Halkidiki peninsula, which boasts some of the country's best beaches.
This little paradise of pine trees and clear water, picturesque bays and olive trees, is the birthplace of Aristotle, the famous Greek philosopher.

The Aegean Sea is an inland sea of the Mediterranean basin, located between Europe and Asia. It extends from Crete in the south to the Dardanelles in the north, and from Greece in the west to Turkey in the east.

The Thracian Sea is the northern part of the Aegean Sea. The regions surrounding this sea are Macedonia and Thrace in Greece, as well as northwestern Turkey. The entire sea lies north of the 40th parallel.

The Sea of Thrace includes islands such as Thasos and Samothrace in Greece and Bozcaada (Tenedos in Greek) in Turkey.

The rivers that flow into this sea include the Nestos and the Evros/Meriç.

The islands of the northern Aegean are blessed by nature and are magnificent to behold if you rent a sailboat in Greece
They are a pitch closer to nearby Turkey and a gentle Oriental light warms their magnificent beaches and numerous remains, bearing witness to a long history.

A stopover in Halkidiki

Opting for a yacht charter in Chalkidiki and the northern Aegean Sea will undoubtedly lead you to discover some exceptional places. The Chalkidiki peninsula, located in northern Greece, is affectionately known as the « secret paradise of Greece ».

A stopover in Chalkidiki will delight budding historians, who will be able to explore some exceptional sites. These include, for example, the ancient site of Olynthus, an ancient city spread over the hill "Megalè Toumba". Located a few minutes from the village of Myriophyto, this site will allow you to discover the ruins of an ancient village. You will also enjoy discovering the site of Potidaea, built around 600 BC by the Corinthians on the western point of the peninsula.

But Chalkidiki also appeals, above all, for its kilometers of beach offering excellent anchorages for a sailboat charter in Greece. Sandy beaches and turquoise sea await you! Among the best known, the beaches of Nea Iraklia and Nea Kallikrateia will certainly make a lasting impression on you. Ideal for families, they are well suited to various water sports.

The pearls of the northern Aegean Sea

After enjoying yourself along the splendid sandy beaches that embellish the shores of the Chalkidiki peninsula, set off to conquer the most beautiful treasures of the northern Aegean Sea. This part of the Aegean Sea is home to magnificent islands just waiting to be explored. Lesvos, Samothrace, Lemnos, Thasos, Agios Efstratios… Each island is unique and particularly blessed by nature! You can sail from island to island with a sailboat charter in Greece!

The island of Thasos, for example, is perfect for families, who will love strolling along Paradeissos beach. Considered the largest of the islands populating the northern Aegean Sea, Thasos will also delight nature lovers who will wander happily through lush nature.
