Yacht charter

Last updated on 8 April 2025

Porto Koufo is a picturesque fishing village and one of the largest natural harbors in Greece. It is located on the Sithonia peninsula in Chalkidiki. A yacht charter from Porto Koufo offers the opportunity to visit the famous islands of the Aegean Sea, namely the Sporades, the Cyclades, Rhodes, the Dodecanese and Crete. The setting is simply marvelous, with a view of a majestic fjord. The surrounding cliffs give the impression that the village is established on the shores of a mountain lake. In September, on the occasion of the tuna fishing festival, the beaches of the region are very lively.

The first thing to do when you go on your sailboat charter in Greece is to come to the beach at dawn and watch the fishermen returning from the sea with their catch. You can then take your chartered boat to a diving spot. For example, you can explore the Erika underwater cave, a dozen meters below the surface of the water. You can also veer off to do some fishing. Your boat trips will take you to the magnificent deserted beaches of the islands of Lemos and Marathias, where the feeling of being far from everything and everyone is incredibly refreshing.

Appreciate the beauty of the beaches of the Sithonia peninsula

There's no need to go in the open sea to enjoy a swim. Because while the natural harbor of Porto Koufo is home to a long sandy river, the municipality of Sithonia also has a few nice surprises in store for you. Located to the southwest of the city, Porto Koufo is an excellent point of departure for exploring the most beautiful beaches in the region. By opting for a yacht charter in Porto Koufo, you can easily reach the long stretches of sand that enhance the municipality of Sithonia.

You will fall under the spell of the wild beach of Karidi, with its picture-postcard setting and transparent, shallow waters, perfect for a little family swim. Sarti beach will also enchant families and offers a magnificent view of Mount Athos. Those who love peace and quiet will certainly appreciate the long sandy beach of Livrohio. The town of Nikiti also offers a splendid sandy beach where you can easily enjoy the pleasures of relaxation.

Discover the historical gems of Sithonia

As you follow the coast from Porto Koufo, you will come across charming towns with beautiful ancient architecture. Budding historians in particular will find this very enjoyable. So linger by the ancient town of Torini with its church and the castle of Agios Athanasios. Then continue your tour of the monuments by dropping anchor at Sykia beach. A short hike will allow you to immortalize its famous windmills.

When you moor at the port of Nikiti, you can reach the old town with its picturesque charm. Located 2 km from the beach, this ancient village has a magnificent church in its center, built in 1867 in homage to Saint Nikiti. A splendid view of the bay awaits you there!
