Yacht charter

Last updated on 22 May 2024

The Aegean Sea is an inland sea of the Mediterranean basin, located between Europe and Asia. It extends from Crete in the south to the Dardanelles in the north, and from Greece in the west to Turkey in the east.

The North Aegean is one of the thirteen regions of Greece.

It is currently divided into five regional districts, organized around the islands of Chios, Ikaria, Lemnos, Lesbos and Samos.

Before the 2010 Kallikratis program, it was divided into three nomoi: the nomoi of Lesbos (including Lemnos), the nomoi of Samos (including Ikaria and Fourni) and the nomoi of Chios (with Psara and Antipsara). Since the 2011 Kallikratis program, this region has also been part of the Decentralized Diocese of Egea.

With a sailboat charter in Greece, set off to discover the Aegean Sea. Lovers of the sea will be enthralled at every stopover and anchorage. Between the cultural destinations forged by centuries of history and the secret corners where nature has preserved its authentic charm, all your desires for escape will be fulfilled. Three islands, Chios, Fourni and Agios Eftratios, are charming havens that have yet to be taken over by mass tourism, thus preserving their small fishing ports from large hotel complexes.

On the mountainous island of Lesbos, a yacht charter in the western Aegean will be all about culture. This historic land is the heir to an exceptional heritage, to mention only the castle of Mytilène and the temple of Klopedi which is located in Agia Paraskevi. And on the island, you can find one of the most important petrified forests in the world. Sailing towards the Turkish coast, you can drop anchor at Izmir, a fascinating city built in the tradition of ancient Smyrna. The agora and its magnificent ancient colonnades bear witness to the city's glorious past.

In the city center, you will revel in the lively atmosphere and the many restaurants where you can savor the many Turkish specialties.
