Yacht charter

Mecklenburg is a region in northern Germany, between the Baltic Sea, the Recknitz, the Trebel, the Elbe, Lower Saxony and Holstein. Want to try your hand at boating during your next vacation in Germany? Check out the yacht charters in Mecklenburg. A magnificent region in northern Germany, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is graced with numerous lakes, rivers and canals that will appeal to sailing enthusiasts. Facing the Baltic Sea, the region is also home to delightful seaside resorts.

The unmissable seaside resorts of Mecklenburg

The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania region has the longest coastline in Germany, where you can veer off to various water sports. Stretching over 1,900 km, its coastline is often referred to as the German Riviera, combining sandy beaches, historic towns and lush green countryside. History buffs will linger in the bay of Wismar, a Hanseatic town where cobblestone streets and gabled facades combine to create a historic city recognized by UNESCO in 2002. From Wismar, boaters can reach the island of Poel, hiding a few secluded coves and sandy rivers.

Stralsund also deserves special attention in terms of heritage. Located a few minutes from the island of Rügen, where you can admire the famous chalk cliffs, Stralsund is also a World Heritage Site. The walks lead to charming Gothic churches built in red brick, such as St. Mary's Church. As for the two beaches, they are an invitation to relax, but also to have fun with the family.

Mecklenburg, the lake district

The region of Mecklenburg does not only shine with its seaside resorts hauled in on the side of the boat. It is also a place where river tourism is practiced in an unspoiled natural environment, with numerous crystal-clear lakes that have made Mecklenburg one of the most popular tourist destinations in Germany.

Surrounded by lakes, the municipality of Schwerin is one of the pearls of north-eastern Germany. Considered the oldest municipality in Mecklenburg, it is an excellent point of departure for a relaxed journey behind the scenes of German nature. Nicknamed the city of seven lakes, Schwerin invites you to immortalize its fortified castle and stroll through its forests, but also to indulge in water sports such as sailing, an unmissable activity on Lake Ziegelsee, and swimming in Lake Ostrof.

For nature lovers, a detour to Müritz National Park, which can be reached from the port of Waren, is a must! Lining the southern edge of the state of Mecklenburg, the park also includes numerous lakes and marshes and belongs to the Sternberg lake region. Its natural environment, made up of forests, marshes, meadows and cultivated fields, will make an excellent playground for experienced hikers.

Let's not forget the romantic cruises on the Danube, which will take you to famous cities such as Munich, a Mecca of art that also has many green spaces, such as the Englischer Garten, whose reputation is second to noneis more to do.
