Yacht charter in Lefkas ▷ Tailor-made advice

Last updated on 8 April 2025

What type of boat should you choose for your charter?

  • Monohull sailboat charter: a monohull sailboat will offer you a more sporty experience and will allow you to reach secret coves only accessible by sea. For adventure and thrill seekers, the monohull sailboat is for you.
  • Catamaran charter: if you are looking for a relaxing cruise and want to prioritize space and comfort for your trip, we highly recommend a catamaran charter, which will offer you greater stability.
  • Motor yacht charter: more accessible and cheaper, this option is ideal for a day charter.

Services offered for your yacht charter in Lefkas

  • Bareboat yacht charter: this option allows you to rent a boat for a fixed period, generally by the day, week or month. You are then free to sail as you please and discover the wonders of Lefkas in complete autonomy.
  • Yacht charter with skipper: If you have little or no sailing experience or you simply want to spend a relaxing vacation, Filovent offers you the option of renting your boat with a professional skipper. The skipper will know the sailing area and will show you some of the most beautiful places on the Ionian Islands.
  • Additional services: Many rental companies offer a wide range of additional services that you can book, such as fishing and diving equipment. If you wish, you can also hire a crew, especially if you are renting a large boat, which usually includes a captain, a cook and a hostess. The crew will take care of you and make sure you have an unforgettable cruise!

Where can you sail from Lefkas?

  1. Corfu: located 68 nautical miles north of Lefkas, the island of Corfu covers 641 square kilometers and is one of the largest and most beautiful islands in Greece. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the island has everything you could want: turquoise, translucent waters, sheltered anchorages, heavenly beaches, mountainous landscapes and rich vegetation. Yacht charter in Corfu is also very popular for cruises in the Ionian Islands.
  2. Paxos and Antipaxos: During your trip through the northern Ionian Islands, you will have to stop off at Paxos and Antipaxos, two marvelous islets in the Ionian Sea. Greek mythology has it that the island of Paxos was created after Poseidon tore it out with his trident, in order to create a more intimate place to live with Amphitrite. You can go to Lakka and enjoy the beaches of Kanoni and Paralia. On the island of Antipaxos, Paxos' little sister, we recommend Voutoumi beach ( which means "paradise" in Greek). The water is so clear that you will have no trouble distinguishing the many fish as you explore the seabed.
  3. Meganisi: The island of Meganisi is located to the south-east of Lefkas. It is one of the least well-known Greek islands and you can drop anchor there at the start of your cruise or on your way back to Lefkas. You will have a fairly peaceful crossing, even in summer. We suggest anchoring your boat in the port of Vathi (which bears the same name as the capital of Ithaca), where you can have lunch at the Errikos restaurant on the side of the boat.
  4. Ithaca: Very famous in Greek mythology, the islandof Ithaca is, according to the myth, the birthplace of Ulysses. For those interested, we invite you to visit some of the island's many archaeological sites such as the Palace of Ulysses or the Cave of the Nymphs. This island has many bays populated with pines and cypresses. With a breathtaking landscape, the island's beaches stretch as far as the eye can see, like Gidaki beach. Discover Ithaca through Vathy, its capital. This port city has the largest natural harbor in the world! Vathy is also one of the most emblematic places in Greece, stop to enjoy a good meal with a sea view in a calm and cheerful atmosphere.
  5. Kefalonia: The sixth largest Greek island, Kefalonia ( ) is also the largest of the Ionian Islands and is very popular with tourists for its idyllic landscapes. Make the most of this stopover to visit the Mount Ainos National Park and the island's many historical monuments. Between the fortress of Saint George, the Melissani Caves, the magnificent beaches and the picturesque villages, you won't have time to get bored in Kefalonia. Don't leave without visiting Fiskardo, which is in the north of the island. This charming little fishing village with its very pleasant marina offers you the opportunity to dine in good, traditional restaurants on the side of the boat.
  6. Zante: Also called Zacynthe or Zakynthos, Zante is an island in the open sea off the Peloponnese. World-famous for its fine sandy beaches where you can come across numerous sea turtles, the island of Zante is the second Ionian island that attracts the most visitors after the island of Corfu. On this island, the activities are numerous and varied! History lovers, discover the Venetian citadel and the churches, bearing witness to the time when Byzantium dominated the region. Before leaving on your boat, take the opportunity to visit the port of Zakynthos and discover the market with freshly caught fish.

Our advice for a successful yacht charter in Lefkas:

  • Familiarize yourself with local regulations: Before embarking on your sailboat charter, make sure you are familiar with the regulations in force in the region in terms of navigation zones, anchorages or protected areas.
  • Documents and formalities: If you are the skipper of the boat, make sure you have a boat license to present. In addition, we strongly advise you to take out damage waiver insurance even if you hire a skipper: in the event of damage to the boat, you are directly responsible, and damage waiver protects you from any unintentional damage.
