A yacht charter in Lipari is an excellent way to discover the Aeolian Islands by sailboat, which also include Stromboli, Vulcano, Panarea, Filicudi, Alicudi and Salina. The island of Lipari has two bays, each with a harbor, namely Marina Lunga and Marina Corta. From one of them, succumb to the temptation of a night-time boat trip close-hauled to Stromboli. In the darkness of the night, the craters of the island's active volcano expel water-jet-powered motorized craft of gas and flames accompanied by explosions reminiscent of fireworks. Good walkers have the opportunity to berth and begin the ascent of the volcano, accompanied by a guide.
The island of Vulcano is also home to an active volcano that can be climbed, from the top of which the view is spectacular. Black sand beaches, smoking strips of sand hauled in by the sea's fumaroles are what give its coast its magic. The underground cave of Cavallo and the natural pool of Venus, which is suitable for therapeutic mud baths, will give you an unforgettable experience. On returning to Lipari, a visit to the castle is a must. Wander through the narrow streets of the old town to Piazza Mazzini, where you can admire Spanish fortifications, a Greek tower, medieval buildings and the citadel, which houses the church of Saint Catherine, among other buildings.
