How fast does a riverboat travel? How far can it travel in a day?

Updated on: 26/05/2025
A river boat travels at a speed of between 8 and 10 km/h. We recommend spending about 4 hours a day on the water so you can really enjoy your stops along the way. A common beginner’s mistake is planning a sailing itinerary that’s too ambitious in terms of distance. That’s the surest way to turn your vacation into a race against the clock filled with unnecessary stress.

To plan your sailing itinerary, use the excellent FluviaCap website.
