When my bank asks me to confirm the payment, I see an amount higher than what you're charging! Why is that?

Don't worry, this is normal! If you book far enough in advance (usually more than 6 or 8 weeks before departure, depending on the rental company), you'll pay a deposit first. If you pay by credit card, which is the easiest option, you’ll only be charged the deposit amount. However, when you confirm your booking, your bank will ask you to authorize the total amount: deposit plus balance. This doesn’t mean you’ll pay the full amount right away, but simply that you’re giving your consent for the balance to be charged later.

Of course, if you cancel your charter before the debit date, the automatic debit will also be canceled and you will not be charged.
