Why is the crew list required? Can I fill it out at the last minute, on the day of departure?
Updated on: 26/05/2025It is a requirement, indeed, but the crew list is mandatory for three reasons:
- For your safety: in the event of an emergency, rescue services must know the exact composition of the crew on board
- To comply with local authorities: these authorities (police, Department of the Interior, customs, etc.) must know who is on board a given boat. The crew list may be requested from the rental company in the event of a police investigation, such as one involving drug trafficking or other crimes.
- To ensure everyone is covered: if you have purchased cancellation insurance, only crew members whose identities have been correctly listed on the crew list within 48 hours of the booking will be covered in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Even if you do not purchase cancellation insurance, we count on you to complete it as soon as possible once your crew has been finalized. It is neither possible nor advisable to fill it out on-site at the last minute, because 1) if everyone were to complete this formality on the day of departure, there would be long lines, and all boardings would be delayed, and 2) our rental partners would not be able to submit all the necessary documents to the authorities on the same day.
Please do not send us the information via email. For liability reasons, it is your responsibility to fill out the list yourself via your customer portal.

If you fail to do so, you risk departing several hours late or even the following day without any compensation for the lost sailing time. In particular, if you board on Saturday, since port authorities do not work on Sundays, you will likely depart late Monday morning once the stamp has been obtained.
