A pleasant town in the Barcelona metropolitan area, Castelldefels is the ideal destination for anyone who loves sunny beaches, the calm waters of the Mediterranean and water sports. Its particularly favorable geographical location also makes it a good place for sailing trips in the Balearic Sea.
Thanks to the many cruiser models that we have available, our yacht charter base in Castelldefels will provide you with the perfect conditions to start your trip at sea. The Balearic archipelago and its treasures of Ibiza, Mallorca, Formentera and Cabrera offer you an incredible escape and a wealth of discoveries, where the festive atmosphere, sumptuous natural sites and authentic villages form a most exquisite cocktail. You can also travel along the east coast of Spain and contemplate idyllic places such as Tarragona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or Peníscola and its famous Sierra de Irta Natural Park.
Note that Castelldefels offers several interesting attractions that are worth visiting before setting off on your boat trip. The impressive Château de Fels, built in the 10th century and overlooking the city's coastline, is one of them, as is its magnificent Olympic-size swimming pool, built in 1992.
Reach the neighboring towns
Anchoring in Castelldefels will give walkers the opportunity to visit nearby towns such as Sitges, Sant Boi de Llobregat and Gavà. With three marinas, the town of Sitges is also accessible by sea and guarantees you a relaxing vacation on its long sandy beach described as the Saint-Tropez of Spain. By sea, you can travel along the coast and drop anchor not far from its renowned beaches such as Platja Sant Sebastiá, which is ideal for families, or Platja de les Anquines, which offers a little peace and quiet to the west of Sitges.
On your way to Gavà, you will have the opportunity to stroll for a few hours in El Calamote Park. Located in the southwest of the town, the park is home to a peaceful pine forest, covering 6 hectares, ideal for hiking. The park offers pleasant points of view such as the Mirador del Delta where you can see the delta of the Llobregat. Sant Boi de Llobregat offers you a brief historical interlude with the church of Saint Baldiri, built in the 13th century, and the hermitage of Saint Ramon, which offers a magnificent view of the town.
Short hike in Garraf Park
A yacht charter from Castelldefels will take you to Garraf Park, where you can breathe in the fresh air before resuming your favorite nautical activities on the beach. You can also reach the park from the town of Sitges. You will sail through green valleys dotted with vineyards.
You will be surprised by the Palau Novella, an old palace transformed into a Buddhist temple looming at the edge of a village. This monastery was built in the heart of the Garraf massif towards the end of the 19th century and reveals an architecture that is at once Baroque, Arabic, Oriental and Neoclassical.
