Yacht charter

Last updated on 8 April 2025

Considered one of the jewels of the Costa Brava, L'Escala is a Catalan seaside resort located in the southern part of the Gulf of Roses. This municipality in the Alt Empordà region attracts tourists thanks to the multitude of getaway and leisure activities it offers. In Spain, it is also one of the places chosen by many vacationers to veer towards sea cruising in the Mediterranean.

Our yacht charter base in L'Escala will enable you to sail at the side of the boat of your choice. Coasting northwards in the sumptuous Gulf of Roses, you will have the opportunity to admire the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park, which is home to a captivating array of flora and fauna including tamarisk, sedge, glasswort, water turtles, water snakes, ash herons and other puffins. If, on the other hand, you head south, the wonderful city of Barcelona will enchant you with its cultural heritage, cosmopolitan atmosphere and historical monuments.

However, before boarding your cruise ship for an unforgettable excursion, consider visiting L'Escala, its picturesque old town, and the surrounding area. The ruins of Empúries, for example, are less than 2 kilometers away and are a remarkable site dating from Greco-Roman antiquity.

A change of scenery in cultural terms at L'Escala

The seaside resort knows how to entertain its visitors with its festivals, gastronomy and historical heritage. Lovers of beautiful architecture and sculpture will enjoy strolling through the historic center of the city. They will fall under the spell of the church of San Pedro and the marine cemetery, revealing a neoclassical style. Built in 1835, this cemetery is the final resting place of Caterina Albert and Josep Esquiro, two important Catalan figures.

Catalan culture in Escale is also revealed through its traditional festivals and events. The Salt Festival is one of the city's unmissable popular events. This festival, which is eagerly awaited in September, highlights the maritime professions and stages the daily life of the inhabitants through folk dances on the beach of the old port. In February, the streets of the town are filled with a festive atmosphere during the famous Carnival of L'Escala, with parades of floats, costumes and festivities of all kinds.

Discover its beaches

Holidaymakers who favor yacht charter in Escala can leisurely sail along the Bay of Rosas and discover the charming beaches that embellish the town's coastline. on leaving the village, you will come to Playa de Riells, a family-friendly urban beach that has become famous thanks to its avenue paying homage to the masterpiece by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Sailing north of the village, you will reach the Playa del Riuet, which plunges into a wild universe. This fine sandy beach is very popular with windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts. To combine a swim with a historical visit, head for Playa de Moll Grec. This fine sandy beach is close to the remains of a Greco-Roman port and the crumbling walls dating from the medieval period.
