Yacht charter

Last updated on 20 February 2025

A charming Spanish town located between the sea and the mountains, Sitges is located about thirty kilometers south of Barcelona, on the side of the boat of the Mediterranean. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, it is one of the most popular resorts on the Costa Dorada.

Yacht charter in Sitges can be combined with many other water and nautical activities, such as windsurfing, canoeing and kitesurfing. How pleasant it is to relax on one of the resort's 17 beaches. Naturist, family, quiet, lively… there is something for everyone! The town also has 3 ports that accommodate boats according to their length: Port Garraf, Port Ginesta and Port d'Aiguadolç. The latter is one of the busiest and is one of the best marinas in Spain.

Before embarking, take a stroll through this charming little town, where history and culture await you. Gastronomy is another of its attractions, which will delight all lovers of Mediterranean cuisine. Try Sitgetana rice, combining produce from the sea and the mountains, or Xató, a kind of sauce made with almonds and toasted hazelnuts, which is the perfect accompaniment to various seafood salads.

Discover its culture and historical heritage

Famous for its ancient buildings, the town of Sitges is home to a number of historical gems that can be discovered on a stroll, such as its castle overlooking the Punta hill and the Cau Ferrat museum, which houses someworks by Picasso, Rusinol and Greco. The city center has a surprising number of religious buildings such as the church of Saint-Barthélemy and Sainte-Thècle. During your stroll, pay attention to the Casa de la Vila, dating from the 19th century, and the Maricel palace, a baroque construction combining elements of the medieval and Renaissance periods with panache.

Partygoers also like to go to Sitges, where interesting tourist events take place every year, such as the International Film Festival of Catalonia, which is expected in October, and the Sitges Carnival, which plunges the town into a rhythmic atmosphere in February.

The most famous beaches in Spain

Located near the seaside resort of Castelldefels, the town of Sitges is renowned for its beaches and particularly clean water. Several beaches can be seen along the seafront promenade, separated by small dikes, which you can follow by boat from the church of Sitges to Terramar. The sandy beach in the center of Sitges, stretching for 2.5 km, Platja Sant Sebastiá, to the east of the church, and Platja de la Fragata offer swimming opportunities for the whole family.

If you sail to the port, you will reach the beach of the Marina d'Aiguadolç. A little less urban than the beaches close to the city center, this one offers its visitors a little tranquility and has a small snack bar for those who wish to eat. Choosing yacht charter in Sitges will allow you to reach the municipality of Garraf, home to a pretty beach offering 380 meters of sand, perfect for pedalos and kayaks.
