The Balearic Islands of Spain never cease to amaze and invite you to discover one of its most beautiful cities, Ciutadella de Menorca. You will spend an unforgettable vacation there under a radiant sun facing a turquoise sea!
A city of stone
Formerly the capital of Menorca, Ciutadella is now the second most important city on the island, located at its westernmost point. It would therefore be difficult not to veer towards a little stroll in the old town during your stay and set off to discover its many stone palaces that have earned it the title of historical monument.
Among the jewels located in the heart of the old town, we would mention the famous Saint Mary's Cathedral in the Catalan Gothic style, built in the 14th century, or the former parade ground, Es Born. Containing very valuable archaeological treasures, you will find various megaliths on Ciutadella such as the « taulas », the « talayots » and the « navetas ». Your walk will continue along the side of the boat, past the many houses with colorful pulpits. A pleasant stroll that will lead you to the port, where the restaurants invite you to sample some local seafood dishes such as Caldereta de langosta, a succulent lobster dish.
Festivities and leisure activities
Ciutadella de Menorca is very lively in June, and also invites you to celebrate the festival of Sant Joan. A perfect opportunity for you to join the locals for three days of festivities. It will also give you the chance to admire the impressive black horses for which Ciutadella is famous.
Well known for its beautiful beaches, Ciutadella also invites you to Cala Blanca for moments of swimming in calm water where you can relax on fine white sand. Several activities are on offer to fill your stay, such as nature hikes or sea cruises thanks to Ciutadella's yacht charter. Nature lovers can also visit the island's biosphere reserve, home to an incredible diversity of animal and plant life (seabirds, birds of prey, pine forests and holm oaks).
