How do I translate my boat license into English to sail in Greece?
Updated on: 16/06/2025Below is a list of licenses currently accepted as is by Greek authorities as of today (April 5, 2024):
- ICC (International Certificate of Competence), or equivalent
- RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Course Completion, equivalent or higher
- ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising Certificate, or equivalent
For French licenses, if the passenger who will be responsible for steering your boat holds one of the licenses listed below, recent changes apply to you:
- Coastal License
- Offshore License
- Sea License
For French licenses, Greek authorities currently require an English translation of the license, subject to their validation, prior to the start of your yacht charter.
